“We must obey God rather than men. "Acts 5:29

God Is Faithful

Sarah always felt that she had married the man of her dreams until one day he abandoned her. Her heart was broken because she had so many dreams and plans with this man. Sarah reached out to her family but they too abandoned her and she was left isolated and alone in unfamiliar land with no friends or support. Sarah was crushed and was hopeless and she did not know what to do. She always knew about God but never had a deep relationship with him. So one day out her brokenness and despair she fell on her face and cried out to God. God heard her cries and began the healing process in Sarah’s life. God became Sarah’s everything and she learned to put him first. Over the course of months, God began to rebuild and transform Sarah’s life. Sarah realized that God is faithful to remain and will never leave her or forsake her as her husband and family had done. She knew that God was just a prayer away. She began to delight herself in God’s word, and he gave her the desires of her heart. Her husband one day came to his senses and returned back to Sarah. Her family also returned back to Sarah and offered tremendous support. But God did something unexpected and over abundantly in Sarah’s life. He blessed Sarah with double portion: a baby and a huge house.

Have you been let down in life by others? Maybe you experience a situation of brokenness like Sarah and can relate. Sometimes God allows us to go through storms in life to build our character and strengthen us so we can be better afterwards than we were before. Remember this is an opportunity for growth if you allow God to have his way. So stop praying for God to deliver from the storm and embrace it with a good attitude and learn from it. Just know that God is with you and he will see you through your storm. This storm is only temporal and destined to change so hang in there. James 1:2-3 says,” My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.”

Let’s pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, My heart is broken and sometimes I feel alone. Psalms 34:18 says, “The Lord is near to me who has a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” Psalms 147:3 says, “You heal the brokenhearted and binds up my wounds.” Lord, I know you are with me because your word says you will never leave me or forsake me. Psalms 118:8 says, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” So I decree that I trust you Lord and know that you are for me, so who can be against me?

God I sometimes feel like I don’t have the strength to carry on. I know your word says let the weak say they are strong. The joy of the Lord is my strength. Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; I shall mount up with wings like eagles, I shall run and not be weary, I shall walk and not faint.” Lord you are the potter and I am the clay. Change me God into who you want me to be as I wait and stand on your promises. Psalms 31:24 says, “Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen my heart, all you who hope in the Lord. Lord you are the healer and comforter of my soul. In Jesus name Amen.
