“We must obey God rather than men. "Acts 5:29

God Will Exalt You

Ricky was a humble school janitor who was barely making minimum wage per hour. Every day he would arise early and spend time with God then open up the school. Ricky took pride in his work and he went the extra mile to put in a good effort. People mistreated Ricky and made his job difficult for him at times but Ricky still kept a positive attitude and didn’t complain. Year after year went by, and no one seemed to notice Ricky but God remembered him. The principal of the school feel ill one day and had to resign. Month after month went by, the principal position was not able to be filled. One of the superintendents at the school noticed Ricky and realized that he had been at the school for over 20 years. This superintendent offered Ricky the principal position making quadruple than his current salary. Ricky knew that God blessed him with favor and exalted him to a position he wasn’t qualified for.

Are you believing in God for a breakthrough? No matter your circumstances, God can turn it around. Ricky delighted himself in God and God gave him the desires of his heart (Psalm 37:4). Every day Ricky went to work and gave his best effort. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men (Colossians 3:23). God blessed Ricky with favor with himself and with men (Proverbs 3:4). Ricky kept a humble attitude and God promoted him. Matthew 23:12 says, “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” No matter what your plans are submit them to God. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established (Proverbs 16:3).

Let’s pray:

Heavenly Father, I will praise you at all times and your praise will be continually in my mouth. Lord, my whole being will praise you and the poor will hear and be glad (Psalm 34:1-2). Lord, I will not forget your teachings, my heart will keep your commandments, and you will lengthen my life and give me peace. Lord, your law will be bound around my neck and written on the tablet of my heart. I declare that I will have favor with God and man (Proverbs 3:1-4). Lord, I will humble myself before you and you will exalt me (James 4:10).

Lord, I am blessed because I do not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, not sit in the seat of scoffers. I delight myself in the law of the Lord and mediate on your law day and night. I am like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, whose leaf does not wither. In all that I do will prosper (Psalm 1:1-3). Lord, may you grant my heart’s desires and fulfill all my plans as in Psalm 20:4. Lord, I declare that you will do exceedingly abundantly all than I can ask or think. In Jesus name Amen.
